Welcome to Pionien Koti (Home of Peonies)! We are a specialized peony nursery located in Taivassalo, Finland.
While our primary market is Finland, we are happy to serve peony lovers in Sweden, the Baltic countries, and selected European destinations.
Our Plants
Unlike many webshops that sell peonies as bare roots, we sell high-quality, hand-potted peonies. Most of our plants are grown in 2L–3L containers. Bigger containers are used when necessary.
- Potted Plants: Available throughout the season.
- Bare Roots: Available only in October, weather permitting.
🇸🇪 🇪🇪 🇱🇻 🇱🇹 Shipping to Sweden & Baltic Countries
We deliver growing potted plants to Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania throughout the growing season (Spring to Autumn). This includes our presale season during the winter and early spring with deliveries in May.
- Free shipping: On orders over 250 € shipped to a pickup point of your choice.
- Carriers: Deliveries are handled by Matkahuolto and it’s international partners including Bring and GLS (Sweden) and Omniva (Baltic countries) via Matkahuolto.
- Dispatch days: We aim to ship international orders on Mondays to ensure the plants travel safely across the sea without weekend delays. Deliveries of preorders is in May.
- Note: Tall plants (over 55 cm) may need to be cut back or bent slightly to fit into international shipping boxes. This does not harm the plant’s long-term health.
Shipping Rates 2026 (Sweden & Baltics)
- Spring / Winter Pre-orders (Until May 31st): 30 €
- Summer Season (June 1st – Aug 31st): 35 € (Higher rate due to larger volume of growing plants)
- Autumn Season (From Sept 1st): 24 €
🇪🇺 Shipping to Other European Countries
For other EU countries, we ship only in September. During this time, the plants are entering dormancy and are cut back, making them safe to transport over longer distances.

Good to Know
- VAT: All prices in our webshop include Finnish VAT (25.5%).
- Guarantee: We adhere to the Finnish Nursery Association’s (Taimistoviljelijät ry ) recommendations on delivery terms and plant quality guarantee. We also provide a variety guarantee: if a plant blooms as the wrong variety, please contact us to discuss about a replacement plant or other compensation (proof of purchase required).
- Payment: We accept credit cards and other common payment methods via our checkout. On email orders a billing fee of 5 € will be added.
